CBD: Earth's Natural Remedy

Contrary to what you may believe, Marijuana doesn’t always get you high. That is, if you are smoking a strain that only has CBD (aka cannabidiol) and not THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the part that gets you “stoned”. Several studies have shown that CBD can help with anxiety, depression, pain, and even epilepsy. Now that’ll come in handy next time you take your epileptic friend to the club. Although, you probably shouldn't be encouraging an epileptic to go to the club… just saying.

But what am I supposed to do with CBD, sniff it?

Too far? Probably. But now that I have your attention I’d like to share with you several ways in which you can reap the benefits of CBD.

Smoke it: If you're already a smoker, this may be your favorite option. This lovely compound can be smoked as a joint, or vaped from its oil concentrates.  As usual, this will also be the quickest way to feel the effects of this pleasantry.

Eat it: Edibles of the finest forms are made for our consuming pleasures. And by finest I mean gummies, truffles and mints. Let me not forget to mention though, several teas can be made to help relax us on our late night “30 minutes of finding the right position” in bed.

Rub it in: That’s right. Lather it up baby! Get rid of those ashy knees while working in the remedies that CBD has to offer. From arthritis to eczema, (and those funky skin rashes in between) just place a dab of your favorite CBD topical and let it work its magic. Don't be shy with the portions either. Look for creams and ointments with high amounts of CBD and apply it generously.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for CBD:

  • Check the laws of your state. Although CBD may be legal in most states, a large portion of them prohibit the (very small amount of) THC content that is allowed in CBD products. So make sure you read the label before you pay a fine for a strained hammy.
  • Read the label. You want to make sure you are getting quality ingredients as several CBD products are mixed with other compounds. Melatonin and MTC may be beneficial, but propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, commonly found in vape oils, are not human friendly.
  • Understand the CBD lingo. CBD isolate is the purest form you can get. This means its been extracted from the plant and separated from all other compounds, including THC. Full Spectrum CBD is where you will truly gain the most benefits. This is when the CBD compound has not been separated from its other natural compounds. Expect healthy doses of THC in these products. And last but not least, Broad spectrum CBD. Enjoy the same perks of the plant without the mild effects of THC. Not as much fun, but it gets the job done.

Are you a believer of CBD yet? I sure hope so, because there’s nothing but good news about this stuff. Need some more convincing? Try it out for yourself! Maybe then you’ll finally see what I've been trying to tell you 300 words ago. In the meantime, I'm going to go roll one up to calm me down after my Netflix bingeing tonight. #FeelGoodNaturally
